Sodium hydroxide, commonly known as caustic soda or lye, is used in the saponification process, where it reacts with oils and fats to create soap.
Uses:
Cold-process soap making, hot-process soap making and formulating solid bar soaps.
Important: Sodium hydroxide is a highly caustic substance and must be handled with appropriate care and protective equipment. Always follow a properly calculated soap formulation and appropriate safety procedures. Keep securely closed and out of reach of children.
